Water Features

For this garden in Eccleston a dramatic water feature using large rocks with plants chosen to give a semi-exotic feel akin to the Channel Islands was agreed. He sourced the sandstone rock in Huddersfield and 15 tons were brought in. Together with 11 tons of top soil from Ormskirk and seven tons of gravel from Preston. The pond liner has a 50 year guarantee and the pump used to create the gushing waterfall shifts 5,300 gallons an hour.

The waterfall adds sound as well as beauty to the garden and large rocks were placed in the opposite corner to balance the view, while full use was made of the surrounding trees to extend the garden. Plants which cope well with shade were planted round the base of trunks of trees remaining in the garden. Paul treats every garden he creates as his own and is often called on to maintain them. He said: 'Gardening is my love, it doesn't matter how big or small a project is. I have created water features from trickling streams to gushing waterfalls and have built up great relationships with my clients so if they move house, they often call me to create the new garden for them.'
